Q. Can our group's dietary requirements be met by the food service department?
A
. Yes. Canonicus offers delicious, well balanced meals prepared with your unique dietary restrictions and/or allergies in mind.  All meals are cooked in our Meadowwood full service certified kitchen facility for the pleasure of our overnight and day guests. Our menu is varied and you may view our Conference Menu options via our website.  Meals are planned and reserved in advance with our Guest Services Coordinator. By offering this dining service, your group is free to focus on planning your special program, event, retreat or conference.

Q. Are linens and complete bedding provided?
A
. Yes. Each guest room is provided with all linens and complete bedding necessary for a relaxed, enjoyable stay.  This includes towels, washcloths, sheets, blankets and pillows.

Q. Is there a way for group members to be contacted while they are staying at Canonicus?
A. Yes. Information is given to the group coordinator as to how a guest may be contacted should the need arise. Guests should ask for this information from their group coordinator. The Hospitality Coordinator, lives on site and can be reached at all times in case of emergency.  Your group coordinator is provided with the non-medical emergency contact number.

Q. Is there a special rate for children?
A
. Yes. Children ages 4-8, staying in a room with parent(s) are charged 50% of the adult rate. Children under 4 stay free.

Q. Does my group have to be a Baptist affiliation to hold a retreat or conference at Canonicus or to use the facilities for a family event?
A
. No. Canonicus welcomes all religious and non-profit groups, including individual families, that support our mission “to provide opportunities and resources for spiritual and personal nurture, and for creative recreation and education in the context of God’s natural environment."

Q. Can we bring our pets along with us to stay at Canonicus?
A
. No. For the safety of all guests, there is a NO PET policy, unless your pet is a certified pet therapy animal.

Q. Do you have single rooms?
A
. Our lodging facilities are designed to accommodate two or more persons. Single occupants would pay the minimum double occupancy rate.  All rooms have a minimum of 2 twin beds.

Q. What is your total overnight and day use capacity?
A
. Our conference facility accommodates 80 overnight guests in Pierce Lodge and an additional 44 guests in our 2 retreat houses - Green and Rathbun - located in our Family Retreat Center. We can accommodate up to 200 for indoor day-only events.

Q. Is your facility handicapped accessible?
A
. Yes. All meeting space is handicapped accessible and we have lodging that will accommodate those with physical restrictions requiring wheelchairs.

Q. Does your facility have a “recreation room” or programmed activities?
A
. Canonicus has more than 300 acres for hiking and biking in God’s natural gym designed to host your group's own outdoor program. We offer seasonal activities such as swimming, canoeing and a low ropes adventure course upon availability.  These activities require advanced reservation and an additional fee for use.
