Food Service Manager/Cook

An overview of the Canonicus facility and the food service program: The American Baptist Churches of RI (ABCORI), comprised of 75 churches within the state, is the owner/operator of Canonicus Camp & Conference Center.  Our conference and retreat center operates year-round.  We cook and serve delicious, freshly prepared meals to our guests from our Meadowwood Conference Center kitchen. We also deliver hot meals to guests at Shaub Lodge that overlooks Lake Adams.    From September through May, the bulk of our food service preparation occurs between Thursday and Sunday.  During the months of June, July and August, we host up to 150 conference and retreat guests on site 24/7 and also operate a 9-week accredited camping program for youth ages 4 - 18.

We are currently seeking a full time Food Service Manager/Cook to join our team.  This position requires the applicant to hold a current food service safety license with the state of RI.  Desirable candidates will have a minimum of 2 years' experience in a food service management position or kitchen supervisory role.
