ALL Camp Staff and Volunteer Alumni Reunion July 20 and 21, 2018 Canonicus has been for many of us a place of significance. Whether we have served there for one day, a week or a whole summer, it is an experience that we hold precious and meaningful. To celebrate this we are inviting EVERY FORMER STAFF AND VOLUNTEER to join us on July 20-21, 2018 for a grand REUNION. The dates have been reserved and the plans are being laid out to share memories and to catch up with our Canonicus family. We want to make this an event that is family friendly and that reclaims old friendships as it revives our interest in and commitment to our camping programs.
We will begin to gather on Friday evening, July 20 after 5. Overnight accommodations can be arranged to utilize a shelter ($50 shared by a family or between up to 12 persons), camp in your own tent ($20) or utilize one of the retreat houses at $35 per room (sleeps 4). For these we need immediate response to make sure they are reserved. Then those who have traveled from afar or come early, will catch up with other alums and create a slide show or display of “artifacts” from all the years. (how many staff shirts do you have?) There will be a chance to meet and mingle with the current staff.
On Saturday July 21, we will begin at 10 a.m. with a gathering of alum and current staff to begin to share our experiences. Lunch will be camp style. In the afternoon there will be camp activities and a chance to see all the improvements in our facility. Saturday evening, we are planning a celebrative banquet with a speaker or presentation. Costs, reservations and additional details will be forthcoming. The planning team for this event is Harold Hemberger (email@example.com), Deb Guilmain (firstname.lastname@example.org) and Charlie Hartman (email@example.com).
Harvesting Shalom - A Wellness Retreat sponsored by American Baptist Women's Ministry and American Baptist Women in Ministry
Friday September 28 - Sunday, September 30
Enacting God’s calling on our lives involves attending to our wellness: spiritually, physically, emotionally, and mentally. This long weekend, spent in the company of your American Baptist sisters, will help you find refreshment and renewal, as well as learning new techniques for attending to your health.
Keynote Speaker, Reverend Aracelis Haye, and worship leader, Linda Wiles, will help us focus on God and God’s gift of our own wellness. More information is available at www.abwomensministries.org.
