VOLUNTEER OPPORTUNITIES
Looking to get personally involved in the ministries at Canonicus? There are many opportunities to serve.  Activities include Beaver Days, Open House, Fishing Derby, Fall Festival, 5K RUN/WALK, camp preparation, online and office work, mailing preparation, indoor and outdoor maintenance support, and many other opportunities.

Besides supporting the Canonicus and ABCORI ministries, there are many personal benefits when you volunteer at Canonicus.

Work in a beautiful outdoor setting (or enjoy the view from any office window)

Be part of furthering the wonderful ministry at this special place

Have an opportunity to work alongside and support our year-round staff

Enjoy a tasty lunch provided upon request

Meet new friends that have similar interests to your own

Come together with other Christians to serve in work & fellowship

Enjoy being part of the ABCORI family

Although there are several fixed opportunities, sometimes volunteers are needed with only a short notice, so we need to constantly grow our volunteer database.  If you think that volunteering might be of interest to you,  contact our volunteer coordinator, Marie Carpenter, to find out more details and ask for your name to be entered into the mailing list.  Marie can be contacted by email or phone: (401) 294 6318 (ext. 102).  Contact Marie today!   All levels of ages and work skills are needed and welcomed!

Opportunities in 2010:

With our 2010 spring and summer seasons behind us and our winter season just around the corner, we are looking for volunteers to help in a number of ways:

Bring your favorite nursing home friends down to Canonicus for a weekday

              fall picnic

Split wood and restock our firewood supply for year-round usage.

Visit local churches and share about the benefits of attending summer camp!

Don't forget to contact us to be a part of the fun here onsite.

The Raiders
This group of retirees comes to Canonicus once a week, every week, to help with construction and maintenance projects on the property.  Several of our summer shelters have been built entirely by this amazing group of volunteers. Most recently they have been busy remodeling our camp store that is newly dedicated as The Hansen Trading Post! If you want to find out more about volunteer maintenance opportunities, please contact our maintenance department at (401) 294 6318 (ext.107)

Volunteer Banquet
In May, we hosted a dinner to show our appreciation for all the valuable work that our volunteers do to continue the ministry of Canonicus.
